About Dr. Emerald Mansfield
My purpose is to help improve your quality of life, and help create healthier families.
I support women through the challenging transitions of preconception, pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and beyond. I provide individualized, holistic care to women and children for acute and chronic illnesses, as well as wellness care. My approach is to address the cause of illness and promote health, not just treat the symptoms. Mental and emotional imbalances often contribute to physical problems. Bodywork, such as Craniosacral and soft tissue work, is an excellent bridge between our emotions and our physical body. Treatment plans are personalized for each patient and often include bodywork. My specialty is to support women struggling with women’s health issues such as: problematic periods, infertility, hormone imbalances, urinary incontinence, and pelvic pain. I also specialize in helping individuals with diabetes, thyroid conditions, and children. I love supporting women during the childbearing year to ease the common complaints of pregnancy and postpartum, as well as preparing for a healthier pregnancy and birth. My interest in pregnancy, childbirth, and babies began at the age of sixteen when I witnessed my first birth and was left in awe of the birth process and power of the female body. A career in naturopathic medicine was a natural choice because it encompasses midwifery, and its emphasis on prevention. It allows long-term service to families, thus maximizing the prevention of disease by starting at birth, or working with women to optimize health before pregnancy. It is my honor to help you and your family on your journey to better health. Please call to schedule a no charge meet and greet to see if we are a good fit. Background Dr. Mansfield received her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine and a Certificate in Natural Childbirth from the National College of Natural Medicine (NCNM), the nation’s oldest surviving naturopathic college. In addition to the required naturopathic coursework, she completed a one and a half year externship in midwifery, women’s health, and pediatrics; and over 100 hours of continuing education before graduation. She also completed a one year post-graduate internship in midwifery. Dr. Mansfield lives in Troutdale, OR with her son and daughter. In her limited free time she enjoys cooking, gardening, knitting, hiking, and watching Star Trek. Modalities: |
"Emerald you are fabulous! You have a great bedside manner (if you want to call it that). You have helped me in so many ways, supported me, seen me cry in your office ... and continued to help me with what's best for me. I can't thank you enough." |
